Our First Photo Album with Printiki
Personal + Photos + Reviews May 25, 2017
Katy and I have been together for nearly a year and a half! To some, that might not seem like much, but in that time we’ve moved in together (very quickly) and we’ve got a dog together.
One thing that we don’t have much of together? Photos! Especially printed ones. So when Printiki* popped into my inbox I knew exactly what I wanted to do with a new set of printed pics.
Of course, I couldn’t resist printing a few artsy Instagram snaps. But for the most part I printed more personal photos. There are a few of me and Katy. There’s one of me and my family. And there are loads of Poppy.
The quality of the photos is great. Although I ordered matte photos, and they’re labelled as matte, but they’re fairly glossy. It’s not a smooth gloss, so it might just be less glossy than their glossy version, but it’s still not quite what I would think of as matte. It’s maybe more satin than anything.
Obviously there’s no issue with this unless you’re planning to take photos of your photos. Which I do (clearly) but probably isn’t common.
I’m really excited that I’ve started this little project. Flipping through my parents’ 20-or-so photo albums is one of my favourite things to do when I go home. It’s easy to keep all our snapshots on our digital devices, but it’s nice to have actual photos on hand. I don’t know, I feel a bit more “grown up” having a photo album.
Yes, I know I’m a 29 year old woman and therefore an adult. Shhh.
And yes, I know that putting photos in an album is a bit dull, especially considering all the cool ideas for displaying photos on Printiki’s Instagram. But that’s me: old, dull and settled down… and loving it.
